Layered Self Portraits
Throughout this project, students will analyze self-portraits completed by other artists that are present in popular culture and focus why they exist in the world and why they are important. Students will use this knowledge to create and select images of themselves that they would like to recreate. They will also demonstrate their knowledge of abstract painting and complimentary colors through painting the background.

Cake Slices
During this project, students were introduced to Wayne Thiebaud who was celebrating his 100th birthday who depicts textural paintings of desserts and sweets. We decided to join in on his birthday celebration by creating paper mache cake slices and decorating them as a dream birthday cake.

Felted Landscapes
During this project students studied fiber arts and learned about landscapes. Students identified foreground, middle-ground and backgrounds within the landscaped they designed and then used wool to create these landscapes on a piece of felt.

Tie Dyed Masks
During this project students learned about different ways they could tie their masks so that once dyed, they would have different patterns. I felt that this was a timely lesson as I was teaching during a pandemic

"The Scream" Parody
For this project, students used oil pastels to create their own version of Edvard Munch's "The Scream" putting into practice their knowledge of one-point perspective when recreating the bridge that was featured in the original painting.

Animal Sculptures
This is your project description. Whether your work is based on text, images or a different medium, a summary provides helpful context. Don’t forget to showcase your project in the media section or include a link.

Coffee Painting
Since we were told to be prepared to go online at a moment's notice, I spent some time thinking about a potential art lesson that students could complete at home. I thought it could be interesting for students to think about how they could paint using materials that were not typically used for painting. Coffee made the most sense, tea following closely behind.

Clay Mono-Printing
Students were introduced to a clay mono-printing technique where they added layers of slip onto a piece of paper which was then applied to clay and peeled off to reveal the layers of slip.

This was the lesson used in my EDTPA.
